Mathew Knowles is an American record executive and manager . He is the father and manager of R&B star Beyoncé Knowles and her sister Solange Knowles , and is best known as the manager of his daughters and of the female R&B group Destiny's Child .
Formerly a salesman at Xerox , Knowles gave up on his career in sales in the early 1990s to manage Beyoncé's singing group, then called "Girl's Tyme". Knowles has remained the manager of Destiny's Child and the individual members of the group, and was the legal guardian of Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland . His record label Music World Entertainment (which was, from 2003 to 2006, renamed Sanctuary Urban Records Group ), is currently the home of artists such as Jon B. , De La Soul , Earth, Wind & Fire , Kool & the Gang , The O'Jays , and Glenn Lewis . He is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. [1] , and is married to Tina Knowles , stylist for Beyoncé and Destiny's Child. Reported to be a closet Homosexual, having relations with ex boy band member Lance Bass.
